Deadline for Submissions: May 8, 2020 

All registered student attendees are invited to submit a poster abstract for review by the Organizing Committee, which will select up to 5 abstracts for presentation at the conference.

Selected students will be invited to each give a 5-minute oral presentation in the workshop appropriate to the subject of the abstract submitted. The chosen winners will receive a refund of their PAG Asia 2020 registration fee.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications for submission are the same as those for student registration of the conference—students must be must be Pre-Ph.D (undergraduate through doctoral students) and will be required to upload a letter of certification from their Department Chairperson when registering. Previous Student Competition winners  are not eligible to apply.

Submission Procedure

Deadline for Submissions: May 8, 2020 

Students interested in submitting to the Workshop Program & Competition must first register for the conference at the student pricing tier.  After this, they are requested to follow the normal procedure of online poster abstract submission.  and select the abstract category “Student Competition” (Please see additional information on Poster Abstracts). Categories for submission are the same as those for poster abstracts for all attendees .

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Student Competition Committee, and the five selected winners will be notified by
May 13, 2020.

The five selected winners will each present a 15 minute talk at the conference, in a workshop appropriate to the subject of the winning abstract.

  • Categories are the same as those poster abstract categories.
  • Previous Student Competition winners are not eligible to apply.
  • Travel expenses are not included.

Winners

Five winners will be selected from the abstracts submitted, and will receive a refund of their PAG ASIA 2020 registration fee.*

Student paper and poster presenters must first register and secure institutional or personal funding to attend the conference. Those students selected to present will be awarded refunds, once they are notified of their acceptance.

Submission Deadline - March 2, 2020

Proposals should be developed with the intent of appealing to attendees from acoss the Asia Pacific region and beyond, with the goal of fostering development of genomic analysis of agricultural products to sustain the world food supply. PAG attendees are involved in all areas of agrigenomics including next generation sequencing, phenomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, data management, and new technologies. (View 2018 Workshop List)

Anyone planning to attend PAG Asia 2018 is welcome to submit a workshop proposal. Each workshop is 1 hour/45 minutes, with 6 speakers. (Fifteen minutes per /speaker.) We are interested in sessions which focus on, but are not limited to, crop, livestock, and aquaculture genomics, on topics such as:

Rice
Wheat
Maize
Barley
Soybean
Arabidopsis
Brassicas
Fruit
Palm Oil
Cattle
Poultry
Shrimp
Fish
Swine
Sheep/Goat

 

Submit a Poster Abstract

All PAG Asia participants are invited to submit abstracts for the Poster Session. A Poster Session is a presentation where materials in addition to the abstract—such as genetic maps, physical maps, photographs, graphs, and/or tables— are presented on a display board along with textual summaries of the material.
